The rising price of gasoline is steadily approaching 2 euros a liter in Germany. Never has filling up been as expensive as it was in March 2012. The gas station chains that dominate the market are all steadily raising their prices. The independent providers are trying to keep their prices down, but are powerless against the oligopoly of the big operators, who exploit their market power to the limit.
