At least nine killed by tornadoes

Powerful storms that spawned tornadoes ripped through the U.S. Midwest.

At least nine people were killed in six states.

Aerial video from Hardin County in Kentucky showed collapsed buildings, trapped cars and debris.

Clean up efforts were underway in the town as people sort through rubble and workers attempted to repair damaged utility poles.

The violent weather went through Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky, according to the National Weather Service.

But it's not over yet with more bad weather expected.

Tornado watches were issued for parts of Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas and Ohio.

Last year, the Weather Service said tornadoes killed 550 people in the United States, the most in nearly a century.
