FARC to stop kidnapping

Colombia's FARC rebel group has made a surprise announcement saying it is to abandon its decades-long policy of kidnapping for ransom to fund its battle against the government. The group also said it will free all military and police hostages although nothing was said about the hundreds of civilians it currently holds.
