My Woolly Hat have been releasing music exclusively online since before the internet started. Well, not exactly, but their website has been live since 2001, and that's a very long time in internet time.
In 2001 they released a 19-track collection called 'A Psychedelic Prayer' of recordings done over the years with various people in various places. This was followed by the following online releases: A Private Sky (2002), Darner of the Cosmic Sock (2003), Secret Societies ( U.S. Election day, 2004).
The core of the band is songwriter Marcus O'Toole along with multi-instrumentalist Zamo Riffman. The following great musicians have also been involved with My Woolly Hat over the years: Andy McDonald (Bass), Bryan Quinn (Trumpet), Anthony McDonald (Trombone), Bill Blackmore (Trumpet), Mike Black (Engineering & Production) and Robbie Sexton (Engineering & Production).
The vast majority of the music on their website has been recorded at home on PC.
