Arusha (phase 1), Tanzania: Bednet distributions

Tanzania is one of the countries in Africa worst affected by malaria. The majority of the country is malaria endemic. Approximately 200 boarding schools across Tanzania, where some of the poorest students in Tanzania are educated, will receive nets to achieve blanket coverage. 100,000 children will be protected. Boarding schools in Tanzania, unlike some in Western countries, do not educate well-resourced students. Across all distributions in the Arusha region approximately 36 schools will receive nets, achieving blanket coverage. The nets are being funded by Rotarians in Canada and the distribution is via a partnership between Rotary Tanzania and PSI Tanzania.
