'Headgear' is a musical project of the Dublin born musician and producer, Daragh Dukes, and several other collaborators. The style of headgear's music is best described as a collage of folk, electronica and rock. Headgear mixes pure and simple sing-along songs with shoe-gaze guitars and samples from thrift store records. Then slap in a few beats, strings, synth, sax and the kitchen sink. Then top it off with a quantity of air punching. This should give you the idea... Based in county Limerick for some years, headgear works at it's own pace, outside of any scene or movement, with a live show that varies from 2 to 10 players around which the music evolves in a basic pro tools studio. A love of ennio morricone, my bloody valentine, steve reich, tom waits and quirky electronica drives headgear on, along with the small issue of identity......
