Lord Krishna appeared in Navadvipa as Lord Chaitanya, and Balarama appeared with Him as Lord Nityananda. Nityananda Prabhu is the original Sankarshana and His expansions as the purushas in the universes are plenary expansions of Nityananda Prabhu.
