A blast in the Iranian capital has killed one of the country's nuclear scientists, after a bomb was placed on his car.
This further increasing tensions in a stand-off with the West over the nation's nuclear programme.
Tehran's deputy governor blamed the attack on Israel.
Iran's semi-official Fars news agency said the victim was a "nuclear scientist" who "supervised a department at "Natanz Uranium Enrichment Facility".
This attack comes after Iran's recent announcement that it had started enrichment in the Fordow mountain bunker complex near the city of Qom.
It lies deep underground.
This makes it harder for the US or Israeli forces to carry out veiled threats to use force against Iranian nuclear facilities.
Iran has insisted its nuclear ambitions are purely for civilian use but some Western powers suspect it of having military goals.
