Taiwan gangster family taken in by police

Police have arrested a family of gang members from Hsinchu as part of an effort to crack down on organized crime. Peng Guo-sheng, his wife Wang Li-lan and their 18-year-old son Peng Yi-han were detained last week. The son is said to be the ringleader of a campus gang who lend money and threaten violence against the property of the families of those who do not pay. Peng once allegedly got his parents to extort US$4,000 from the parents of a boy he accused of stealing his bike. According to reports, Peng was trained from a very young age in gangland behavior, learning to settle disputes with violence.
