Kitchen Tools for Chopping and Peeling

Kitchen Tools for Chopping and Peeling - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. I have in front of me some of my favorite tools for chopping and peeling my vegetables. On my left I have my favorite knives, my chef’s knife, my Ginsu and my paring knife. On my right I have my Y peeler and my standard peeler. If I am chopping a big squash, then I would use my chef’s knife because I have a better control over slicing the item. And if I am chopping up herbs, like parsley or rosemary, then I use my Ginsu because I have better control of the chop. And then, if I am paring, say, let us pretend this is a pear, then I use my paring knife because I have better control and I can hold the item safely in my hands. So, those are my favorite things for chopping. My favorite thing for peeling is actually a standard peeler. You can buy these at your local department store, as they have them there. This is what I use for peeling carrots and those thick stemmed asparagus. And a long peeler, so, a wide peeler I should say. They have made is so, interactive maybe for kids to get involved in the kitchen more. So this guy I like to use for peeling potatoes or yams. So see how easily you could do that, and it is wide enough to where you could get all the skin out in a blaze. So, these are my favorite chopping and peeling items to use in my kitchen.
