ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION
An ultra-light plane crashed into a ferris wheel near the small town of Old Bar, about 300 kilometres (190 miles) north of Sydney on Saturday.
Local media reported that two people were still trapped inside the plane, a Cheetah S200, which dangled from the ferris wheel.
Still photos showed emergency personnel at the scene who used a cherry-picker to help rescue the occupants of the plane.
Emergency services also sprayed foam on the plane which was leaking fuel.
It is believed that two children who were riding on the ferris wheel at the time have been rescued without any injuries.
The Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported the plane was taking off from a grass airstrip. However, it failed to gain enough altitude to clear the ferris wheel, which was placed at the southern end of the airstrip as part of a local festival.
No injuries have been reported at this stage.
