The R, unveiled in September 2009, is the replacement for the R32 and has a 2 litre FSI turbocharged engine which spits out 267bhp.
VW offer both a manual and DSG gearbox option for the R and claim 0-60mph times of 5.5 and 5.7 seconds respectively.
