Plane crashes at Nevada air races

A plane crashed at the Reno Air Races in northern Nevada with many people reported dead and injured.
The plane is thought to have crashed near the grandstand, though the site of impact is not completely clear.
Mike Houghton, President of the Reno Air Racing Association described what happened.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) MIKE HOUGHTON, PRESIDENT AND CEO OF THE RENO AIR RACING ASSOCIATION, SAYING:
"It pretty well wiped out the front of the box area. The aircraft parts as well went to the north. (REPORTER ASKING: CAN YOU TELL US WHAT PEOPLE HEARD OR SAW?) It appeared as though he had lost control of the aircraft.
A Federal Aviation Administration official said the plane could have been a P-51 Mustang, a World War Two-era fighter.
The Reno Air Races features planes facing off in multi-lap races.
This crash was the latest fatal accident to hit an air show.
