Afghan war special US unit that killed Bin Laden was in Chinook crash 31 US forces from unit that killed Bin Laden die after insurgents shoot down Chinook copter. The chopper was shot down by a lone militant using a rocket-propelled grenade early Saturday morning as it was taking off after the raid, according to two Afghan government officials.
