Choosing Fabrics for Kids Clothing

Choosing Fabrics for Kids Clothing - as part of the expert series by GeoBeats. First thing that comes to mind for me with kids clothing is durability but also softness and ease of movement and comfort. Kids are I would think, less excited to wear something that is stiff and pretty than something that is nice looking and really comfortable. So canvas is always a nice choice if you are talking about pants you might even put the patches on the knees when you are first making it rather than waiting for them to blow out. You are going to want to go with like a medium weight canvas, I would not go with something, once you get heavier weight it starts to get stiffer and it will not be as soft and easy to move around in. Denim is always nice again go with the softer one, this one has bamboo mixed in with a cotton and it makes it very soft and comfortable for kids or adults. Knit is another great choice, kids love being in cosy knit. Bright prints with my experience with children in here when they get to pick out their own fabric, they go for bright things. They have a different aesthetic than adults, and smiling apples may be just right up their ally. These are mid range canvas, again white are typically is going to be anywhere from 8 or 9 dollar a yard up to maybe 15 dollars a yard. You can keep in mind if you are looking at it whether it is a 45 inch or a 60 inch, you can get more out of a 60 inch and less yard inch when you buy it. The same with denim, about the same price range anywhere from 8 to 12, 15 dollars a yard.
