About the translation: yes, I realize that this is an attempt to translate the untranslatable. The original text is beautiful and folksy (being of a Northern Russian dialect) and is impossible to accurately reproduce in English. I've done the best I can, and I've been helped by AxmxZ (who helped with ~20 lines). I think that even a possibly inadequate translation is much better than none at all. This video file has nicer colours than any version I've found of the feature film, but the edges of the frame are cut off by a fairly noticeable margin.
