Coalition in permafrost - Germany’s government lacks unified message | People & Politics

This time it’s taxes; more or less ... With one of their ongoing arguments, the governing coalition is again at loggerheads. Ahead of the government’s summer break, the coalition is in deep crisis; the pro-business FDP is off balance and no longer being taken seriously by the conservative CDU. There’s disagreement over Greece and the euro, storing sensitive data and a recent and dramatic reverse on energy policy. Even the relationship between Chancellor Angela Merkel and Vice-Chancellor Philipp Rösler seems strained.
