China's first Tang Dynasty tomb frescoes debut at the Shaanxi History Museum in the northwestern city of Xian.

The 1,000-year-old frescoes have taken four years to prepare.

Altogether there are 97 priceless murals on display—including the tombs of Crown Prince Zhanghuai, Crown Prince Yide, and that of Princess Yongtai.

The exhibition also features mural relics such as "Pole Game," "Hunting and Outing," and "Guest Envoy."

According to Chinese state media, the treasures portray in great detail the daily life and philosophy of the Tang Dynasty era.

To preserve the ancient murals, they are placed in cabinets with non-ultraviolet radiation glass—the temperature maintained at 70 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity at 50 to 80 percent throughout the year.
