When you are trying to find a photographer to shoot your wedding, the first thing you want to do is, not surprisingly, look at their pictures. You want to make sure that pictures hit you in an emotional way. Look at a few pictures, if they don't do that, by the time you have gone through a few, you probably know its not the right photographer for you.
Equally important, perhaps even more so, is you really need to like the photographer. Smiling is hard-wired and if you don't have a good report with the photographer, you are not going to smile in the same way that you would if you felt that the photographer was a good friend of yours, which by the time your wedding comes around they probably will be.
