'Europe needs us to succeed': Irish deputy PM

Ireland is looking to become the success story that Europe desperately needs, the country's Foreign Minister has told AFP in an exclusive interview. Eamon Gilmore, the current Tanaiste (deputy prime minister), said Ireland had put its political "cronyism" behind it at the last election, and was counting on recent high-profile visits from Barack Obama and Queen Elizabeth II to help mend the country's image.
