Arabic-Web-Vietnam's loudspeakers sidelined, but not silenced

For decades, Vietnam's loudspeaker system has been part of the communist country's scenery. Whether telling people to clean the streets or praising the regime, their announcements have been a daily backdrop to the lives of 87 million citizens. But in an increasingly Internet-savvy and smartphone-using society, the system looks more and more old-fashioned -- as well as Orwellian. A voiced AFPTV report.
