Waiting Game
Half a skier’s life is spent rushing about—to the mountain early on a powder day; to the heli-pad when bluebird conditions are expected; to a resort halfway across the country on a storm-chasing road trip. The other half is spent waiting forever once you get there -waiting for the tram to open, for the skies to clear, for the roads to become passable.

And the waiting is the hardest part. Because the anticipation of the next face shot, of an uncut heli run, and of an approaching storm is enough to drive a group of skiers to devote their entire lives to the pursuit of a sport, to the pursuit of a lifestyle—and this lifestyle includes countless hours spent in lift lines, in RVs on the side of the road and in the parking lot of a helicopter operation twitching during down days waiting for that next indescribable moment when it all make sense…this is the waiting game.
