A leopard has attacked villagers in Tonk district of India's north-western Rajasthan state injuring eight locals.

Even those with supposed expertise were amongst those that ended up suffering from injuries in the Ranthambore National Park.

According to the forest officials, the leopard lost its way and entered the village.

As soon as the locals saw the leopard, they informed the authorities.

When the officials went to catch the leopard, it then attacked them.

The forest officials and the villagers tried to tranquillise the leopard three times but were unsuccessful.
