Wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has launched his latest movie vehicle, the action thriller Faster.

The story of a former prisoner tracking down the gang that killed his brother, Faster is a high-octane thrill ride that sees Johnson pursued by a policeman and a hitman.

Veteran actor Billy Bob Thornton takes the role of the cop, while rising British actor Oliver Jackson-Cohen stars as The Rock's nemesis, a hired killer.

Dwayne Johnson admits it is no 'chick flick' but says it is a film that guys will simply have to go and see.

"Come Monday you don't want to be the guy that goes to work and everyone is asking what you did this weekend, 'I went to go see the Rock kick ass at the movies. What did you do?' You don't want to be the guy that says, 'My girl took me to the chick flick.' You don't want to be that guy."
