Arquette chats about Cox marriage split

Less than 24 hours after news broke that David Arquette and Courtney Cox had split up, David phoned a radio station to discuss their separation.

Speaking to Howard Stern, the actor told the host that he had been intimate with a waitress and that his "sexual encounter made him feel pretty manly."

However despite his confession, the Scream star told the US DJ that he was not unfaithful to Courtney:

"Part of the terms of our separation was that I was allowed to see other people and so was she."

David also spoke about claims that Friends star Courtney has already moved on with her Cougar Town co-star Brian Van Holt.

He said that his wife and Van Holt were involved in an "emotional affair" but was not aware if it had yet become physical.

Courtney and David met on the set of Scream in 1996 and married three years later. They have a six-year-old daughter together called Coco.

After US magazine In Touch Weekly reported that the couple had split, David and Courtney issued a joint statement announcing their trial separation.

They said: "We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter, and we still love each other deeply.

"As we go though this process we are determined to use kindness and understanding to get through this together."
