The killing of a man pegged to win a governorship in Mexico's election on Sunday has heightened tensions across the country. The shooting of Rodolfo Torre Cantu is being seen by politicians and voters alike as yet another sign of the drug cartel-fuelled violence that has killed almost 23,000 people since the end of 2006.
