Easy to prevent. You can fix it yourself. But the thumb was not made for the kind of the cell phone texting that it is being used. Yes you can hunt and peck with a finger - but that is not cool. However continued use of the thump can lead to injury. And it is serious thumb pain. People report that their thumb is swollen or feels like it is bruised. The pain may seem to travel up the forearm. But basically the base of the thumb hurts. So maybe you can text lightning fast with your thumbs. Warning - you could well be headed for painful trouble.
