http://www.netbooknews.com Adobe has been getting dumped on lately for Flash. Too power intensive, too old and when you are talking about HTML5, well, yeah. So today google announced support for an open source video codec called VP8, this will challenge Flash, but will take a few years to actually make it to this mainstream. David Schmidt Sr. Product Manager from Adobe give us a run down of the significance of VP8 and what it means to the internet. I ask him why the average consumer should care about this announcement. He also discusses Flash 10.1 and we round off the interview with a demo of VP8 running on YouTube.
