Düsseldorf native Sabine Boehl has spent the past six months in Istanbul. She's been working out of the Atelier Galata, an artist's house funded by the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, and soaking up the cultural scene of the Turkish metropolis. She told Deutsche Welle how her time in Turkey has influenced her art, as well as changed her ideas about what binds and separates the German and Turkish cultures.
