Militant Killed in Indian Kashmir Gunbattle

Indian forces gunned down a militant of the Jaish-e-Mohammad group in a gun battle in Poonch district of Indian Kashmir on Wednesday. The rebel was identified as Parbat Ali alias Tipu.
One AK-56 rifle, three magazines with more than a hundred rounds and two grenades were seized.
[Manmohan Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police]:
"It was a well coordinated operation with the Army. Following the inputs from our officials about the presence of militants, we went for a search operation. Consequently, the militant was shot dead in gunfight."
Separatist insurgents have been fighting Indian security forces in the Indian Himalayan region for the past 20 years.
