Alexander Elean is a ballet teacher and the owner of a ballet school in Montreal, Canada. She has danced for more than 30 years and has been teaching for more than a decade.

She saw Shen Yun at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on Tuesday night.

[Alexander Elean, Ballet School Owner]:

“What I really enjoyed the most is the floating girls. I don’t know what else to call them. When they walk, you know, with that little step, it is so marvelous…I don’t think there was one out of place, everyone was in place. And I am going home with a very good feeling of seeing this because to me this is completely different to the American or Canadian dances.”

She was impressed by the choreography.

[Alexander Elean, Ballet School Owner]:

“I love the work you kids do. It’s just marvelous really and truly. I know it takes a lot of time, a lot of patience.”

She says she enjoyed seeing Chinese culture on stage.

[Alexander Elean, Ballet School Owner]:

“To me that was so exciting. And just everything has a story and a meaning and I said to myself, ‘this is all coming back after all these years.’”
