The negative move was partly their fault, having leaked points against Birmingham City two weeks ago when they settled on the 1-1 draw. They recovered ground against Burnley last weekend when they took the 3:0 away win but it was not enough. Arsenal had three fixtures over the last two weeks (two games in hand) and they seized the opportunity taking seven of nine potential points to move into top spot, deposing Chelsea FC from their perch atop the league. They are however level on points with Chelsea at 48 but Chelsea does have a game still in hand. Manchester United vs. Hull City is the only fixture scheduled for this weekend because FA Cup has the stage onto itself. Should Man U win, they will move to the top of the table, temporarily at least. They are on 47 points after 22 cycles and a three-point win would see them at 50 points before the rest of the league matches get underway on Tuesday next week.
