A man flew from the US to the UK for just 24 HOURS - to reunite with his old university friends.

Kevin Droniak, 26, flew from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City, to Gatwick Airport in London, on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 6pm.

He had been due to spend the week in London but his grandma, had a fall and needed his help getting to appointments.

Instead of missing the trip completely, Kevin decided to board a six-hour flight and spend 24 hours in London - where he had afternoon tea and rode a double decker bus.

00:00If you don't travel often, you're gonna have a conniption at what I'm doing right now.
00:03I'm going to London for just one night.
00:05That's why I'm heading to the airport with just a backpack.
00:07I'm going for only 24 hours because I found a cheap flight and why not?
00:11And you know how much I love a quick trip.
00:12So I'm at the airport and even the check-in lady was like,
00:14are you seriously flying across the world for one night?
00:16Okay, here's my logic.
00:18So my flight is only six and a half hours and it's a red-eye.
00:20And I'm gonna be going to sleep anyway tonight.
00:22So I might as well go to sleep on a plane and wake up in London.
00:25Good morning.
00:26Good morning, London.
00:28No worries.
00:29I made it to London.
00:32What am I doing here, honestly?
00:33I want to break the stigma of having to vlog out a week to travel somewhere.
00:36It's not that serious and you can have fun for a quick trip.
00:39And now I'm on a double-decker bus and I'm just gonna enjoy the day.
00:43Here's how I spent my 24 hours in London.
00:45Like literally, I flew in at 6 a.m. and was flying back home at 6 a.m. the next day.
00:49So the clock was ticking and I immediately went to high tea to wake up some more
00:52and I spent like three hours here with my friends.
00:54And I know it's kind of touristy but high tea is seriously one of my favorite things to do in London.
00:58It just makes me feel so bougie, but I will say the pastries here were a little strange.
01:02After the tea, I hopped on the tube and got off at Notting Hill
01:05because it's such a charming neighborhood for a stroll
01:07and I love endlessly walking around London.
01:09It is just so picturesque and I got lucky because it was such a sunny day today.
01:13Like imagine if it was pouring rain the one day that I was here.
01:15And honestly, I just wandered around the whole day
01:17and of course I had to get some fish and chips for dinner.
01:20And I ended the night bar hopping with friends until my phone died.
01:22And before I knew it, I was back on the plane at 6 a.m.
01:25thinking to myself, like, was this worth it?
01:27And I thought about it and honestly, yes.
01:29Because the flight was only $350
01:31and I would have spent that much going out on a weekend in New York.
01:33And now I have a memory that I'll never forget.
