00:00Let's go to the world of sports.
00:02The Philippine Masters International Athletics Championships
00:05will be held tomorrow,
00:07where not only the young athletes will compete,
00:11but also the old ones.
00:14Paolo Salamatin of PTV Sports in the center of the news.
00:20The officials of the Philippine Masters Games Association
00:23are excited about the opening of the competitions of the old Filipinos this year,
00:27where the Philippine Masters International Athletics Championships
00:31will be held from the 8th to the 10th of November
00:34at the Field Sports Track and Field Oval in Pasig City.
00:37Almost 500 athletes aged 35 years old to 100 years old
00:42will compete in more than 1,000 events
00:45prepared by the National Masters and Senior Athletics Association of the Philippines or NAMSAP.
00:50PMGA President Alberto Agra shared the reason
00:54why they came up with the idea of creating games for the old.
00:59Please, let's not forget the seniors.
01:02That's why we did this,
01:04because I think what we're doing is not enough for the old Filipinos.
01:10So, with everybody's help and participation,
01:13we will do more and a lot better next year.
01:17If there are national games and young Filipinos,
01:20there are also old Filipinos
01:22where this will provide an opportunity for the old or retired athletes
01:27to continue their passion for sports despite their age.
01:32When others saw that they were excited,
01:35they entered the Oval and followed us.
01:39And you can see in the video that the Oval was full.
01:43They were so happy, they fought in the airtime.
01:47When you saw that introduction,
01:50you were encouraged and inspired to participate.
01:55You know, my question is,
01:58Ma'am, when will you follow me?
02:01NAMSAP Director Judith Staples added,
02:04creating this kind of event is a big deal for the oldies,
02:08not only for the experience,
02:10but also for the enthusiasm of more senior athletes
02:14and to be a part of their future competitions.
02:17Almost a week, all of them posted,
02:20captured the beautiful, fun and memorable moments of the athletes
02:25that they can post on their Facebook, on their IG.
02:28So, that's the additional way of us sharing
02:32how fun it is to be doing this kind of activity even at our age.
02:37Aside from spreading the competition throughout the country,
02:41PSA Commissioner Olivia Boncu announced
02:44that there will be an Old Filipino Festival next year.
02:48From Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila,
