00:33Meanwhile, the Senate Committee on Local Government led by Senator J.V. Ejercito to hear the favors and the decision of the Panukala.

00:41According to Ejercito, the decision is not only about whether the election of Barm will continue or not.

00:48They want to understand the reason behind the decision of the Panukala.

00:53The committee is interested in understanding how these newly established municipalities and their officials would be impacted if the elections proceed as originally scheduled next year.

01:05The chair believes that the government is making significant progress in its peace building efforts in the region.

01:11Aljo, the senators were given the opportunity to speak about their favors and decisions regarding the postponement of the elections of Barm. Here is their statement.

01:41As Barm's transition representatives to accept in governance, by delaying the election, we ensure our citizens fully understand their new rules as voters in the parliamentary system.

01:57The answer to the situation in Barm is not postponement, but election, so that the Barm regular government is anchored in the rule of law.

02:10Aljo, Secretary Carlito Galvez of the Office of the Presidential Advisor on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity.

02:18According to Secretary Galvez, the year election reset is a good sign, just like the arrangement of the police. This will help address security issues.

02:31The proposed reset of the election is a strategic effort to address security threats that endanger the success of this election.

02:40At present, we are in the process of decommissioning former Moro Islamic Liberation Front and also the transformation of the Moro National Liberation Front.

02:52Aljo, Comelec said they are ready to hold an election in 2025 in the Moro country, but they are asking the Congress to postpone the election if it continues or not.

03:01But they wish to postpone the election as soon as possible.

03:07Comelec is just talking about one thing. This is not a pressure on our Congress, but the truth is,

03:14I hope there will be a development if our election continues or not because Comelec will print the ballot last Sunday of December.

03:23This means that we will finalize the list of candidates hopefully before December 13 of this year.

03:30This means that if it does not become clear, we will continue even if we accept it.

03:37The names of the candidates of the members of the parliament and our 10 accredited regional political parties will be imprinted on the ballot.

03:49We will print another ballot for them.

03:53Our timeline for this kind of development is more or less until the second week of December.
