00:00Today, we face a new battlefield.
00:04Our enemy is no longer a foreign invader, but the threats to our territorial integrity,
00:10the undermining of international laws, and the growing tensions in the Philippine Sea.
00:17As Speaker of the House of Representatives, I am proud to stand with our government in
00:22upholding a rules-based international order, particularly in our maritime domain.
00:29We continue to advocate for the peaceful resolution of disputes guided by the principles enshrined
00:37in the United Nations Convention of the Law of the Sea, UNCLOS.
00:42We honor the legacy of our veterans by ensuring that our nation's sovereignty is respected,
00:47especially in the West Philippine Sea.
00:50And just as our forefathers fought side by side with allies in the past, today we strengthen
00:57our alliances with likeminded nations to defend the principles of freedom and democracy.
01:06This is a new war, a war for peace, stability, and the preservation of our way of life.
01:14We are committed to protecting our sovereign rights, ensuring the future generations live
01:20in a free and secure Philippines.
01:23This is not just a war for territory, it is also a war for our rights, for peace, and
01:32for the future of every Filipino.
01:36We are fighting for the principles of our nations – rights, freedom, and dignity.
01:45As we commemorate the lady landings, let us draw strength from the courage of those who
01:49came before us.
01:51The legacy they left behind is not one of violence, but of enduring peace through unity
01:59and determination.
02:01Just as they were victorious in the face of adversity, we too can overcome the challenges
02:06that we face today, whether they are threats to our sovereignty or persistent challenges
02:13of poverty and inequality.
