00:21One of the programs that was held on the 85th founding anniversary of Quezon City

00:26was free vaccination against rabies, vaccination, and microchip implantation.

00:33Fur parents in the Quezon Memorial Circle joined in

00:36just like Nashila and Christine,

00:38who brought their one-year-old Aspe, Atlas, to be vaccinated.

00:42When he was in heat, he was carried by a woman, a dog.

00:48When he came out, he was just free.

00:57Esteva brought her nine-year-old Aspe to be consulted.

01:05and it was not a good experience.

01:18This type of project is very helpful because the initiative of the owners

01:23to take good care, better care of their pets.

01:28This is our goal to bridge the gap.

01:31We do understand and we do recognize that not everyone can afford

01:34to get the necessary veterinary care.

01:38Aside from providing free healthcare to the animals,

01:41the primary goal is to vaccinate all rabies,

01:45all pets that are not yet vaccinated,

01:47especially those that were vaccinated during the lockdown.

01:51We have a timeline to eliminate rabies or the death by humans due to rabies by 2030.

01:58So our efforts to make our city rabies-free,

02:03to make our space safer, the city safe.

02:07A lot of our cases of rabies right now are from pets that are not vaccinated.

02:14And this is simply because, one, they don't have time.

02:20That's not the reason why we don't get vaccinated.

02:23Aside from QC, free programs were also held in other places in Metro Manila and the province.

02:29Like Ilo-Ilo, where dogs were included in the program to get vaccinated against rabies.
