00:04establishes the rules for indigenous peoples in environmental matters and the development
00:09of the competencies of their authorities.
00:11In a ceremony at the Casa de Nariño, President Petro said that the regulation will grant
00:15indigenous communities the same power that the regional autonomous corporations have
00:19and will establish effective coordination with other authorities and state entities.
00:24On the other hand, Petro also mentioned the upcoming Biodiversity Summit, COP16, to be
00:28held in Cali.
00:29He affirmed that this is perhaps the most important international event that Colombia
00:34has ever held.
