00:00Christian McCaffrey, who is yet to play this year for the 49ers, the NFC title favorites,
00:09now is dealing with Achilles tendonitis in each of his two legs.
00:14It was in his right leg, and now it's in his left leg.
00:18Of course, Scott, the update last week was that CMC was flying out to Germany to meet
00:22with a specialist.
00:23You and I said, if you have to go to Germany to meet with somebody to try to seek non-FDA
00:28approved treatment, it's never a good sign.
00:31It does not seem to be a good sign here for McCaffrey or the Niners moving forward.
00:35Yeah, this might be one of those, Ben, where you just say, you know, you're not playing
00:39in the regular season.
00:40Or at least not until, you know, December, you know, we'll give you a couple of games.
00:44And just, you know, just tell them, do whatever it takes to get healthy, whether it's rest,
00:48whether it's go to Germany, whether it's go to the moon, do whatever it is.
00:52But you know, regular season, we don't need you to regular season.
00:54And realistically, they should, especially in that division.
00:57You know, even if Seattle turned out to, you know, stay as good as they are right now,
01:01you know, San Francisco is more than capable of going to the Super Bowl, winning those
01:05games on the road, come playoff wise with as much talent as they have.
01:09So I would do absolutely everything in our, in their power.
01:13They need McCaffrey to win on a big time, big time level and just say, just shut it
01:17down, you know, to do whatever you have to do.
01:19But you're not playing.
01:20I don't care if the doctors say you're healthy tomorrow.
01:22You're not playing until December.
01:24Simple as that.
01:26It would be the case, Scott, where they could forecast this out a little bit, right?
01:30San Francisco is still the NFC title favorites off to a peculiar two and two start, but still
01:36two and two.
01:38And they still have that best price to win the Super Bowl from teams from the NFC, the
01:44win total for San Francisco just to show what kind of track and path they are on.
01:49Still ten and a half, even juice on both sides.
01:52If they're going to be a double digit win team, there's a chance they even win the division
01:56for a third consecutive year.
01:58Seattle, though, the best record at three and one following the opening month of this
02:02season.
02:03It's so fascinating, Scott, both for the 49ers and the Chiefs who were about to discuss in
02:07a moment.
02:08You would figure if there is any team that can deal even with losing the offensive player
02:13of the year, it's Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco.
02:16Heck, it's basically been the argument for Brock Purdy's career.
02:19Is he just a system quarterback taking advantage of the mastermind that is Kyle Shanahan?
02:24We have diminished the value of running backs in the last few years in the NFL.
02:28We have demeaned what they can mean to an offense.
02:30You would certainly think that's been the case for the 49ers and Jordan Mason's been
02:34pretty good, at least 100 yards in three of four games.
02:39But I would agree with your ending point there, Scott, to knock off the Chiefs to win a Super
02:44Bowl, something the Niners have failed to do since their last Lombardi trophy in 1994.
02:50They need a guy like Christian McCaffrey that is a difference maker even at the running
02:58back position, although we know CMC does a little bit of everything.
