00:00The Civil Service Commission, or CSC, launched the nationwide bloodletting drive for the employees of the government.

00:08This is accompanied by the celebration of the 124th anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service,

00:15which has the theme of the week of Malasakit sa Kapwa.

00:18This is the story of Vel Custodio.

00:21The Civil Service Commission, or CSC, launched the 124th anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service,

00:27which has the theme of the week of Malasakit sa Kapwa.

00:30This is the story of the nationwide bloodletting drive for the employees of the government from 200 government agencies.

00:38Of course, it is to help those who need blood.

00:44It is to change and clean our blood.

00:48Of course, it is to help those who need blood.

00:51It is also to check my health.

00:53If my health condition is okay.

00:56500 people are registered in blood donation venues in NCR,

01:00including the CSC Central Office and Department of Environment and Natural Resources Environmental Management Bureau Building in Quezon City.

01:08It is also open for walk-ins in the Central Office Venue of CSC,

01:12so blood donors can still be added.

01:15The bloodletting program will be conducted at the same time in all CSC Regional Offices,

01:20from 8 am to 5 pm.

01:24There is a theme of the activity called Dugtong Buhay Handong ng Nikud Bayan.

01:28The Department of Health-Philippine Blood Center and Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Sanitarium are part of the CSC.

01:36This is the time that we take care of each other by giving blood, by donating blood.

01:43We will be able to look after one another.

01:47It's the Philippine Civil Service Anniversary Month and we are here for each other.

01:52Your CSC, together with all other Regional Offices and Central Office,

01:57and the Commission as well, chaired by Chair Carlo Nograles and Commissioner Ryan Acosta.

02:02This is our way of sharing or making ourselves responsible for the lives of our mga kababayan.

02:11CSC's advice to those who have already donated,

02:13to ensure that there is enough sleep before blood donations,

02:17to eat nutritious food, especially iron-rich foods,

02:20and to drink plenty of water.

02:22It is prohibited to donate to those who are sick,

02:25to get a tattoo or piercing within 6 months,

02:28from the dental procedure,

02:30and not to enter the standard hemoglobin level.
