Dahil sa dumaraming kaso ng leptospirosis, pati private rooms ng ilang ospital, ginawa nang leptospirosis ward! Ang health department, pinapa-activate na rin ang surge capacity plan ng mga ospital sa Metro Manila dahil sa dumaraming kaso ng sakit.

00:00The 13-year-old daughter of Annalyn, who is positive for leptospirosis,

00:04suffered from a fever for a few days and did not go down.

00:10The second floor of their house was flooded when the typhoon Kareen and Habagat hit.

00:15She was not taken care of, so she drowned in the flood.

00:19Adrian Mendaza, who is also positive for leptospirosis, is 18 years old.

00:26She was diagnosed in August 2, but she was brought to San Lazaro Hospital in August 8.

01:33The National Kidney and Transplant Institute opened a new ward for leptospirosis patients.

01:49Nurses from Bicol Medical Center and Philippine Orthopaedic Center volunteered.

01:54At present, 76 are admitted leptospirosis patients.

01:5862 of them are on dialysis.

02:01Most of the patients are male commuters or motorcycle taxi riders.

02:06According to the NKTI, the number of new admissions is declining,

02:10but it is not yet possible to make it permanent.

02:12This is still a very critical period, so it is not yet decreasing.

02:17It will remain about 10 a day.

02:20According to the Department of Health, as of July 27,

02:23the number of leptospirosis cases in the country reached 1,444.

02:28The DOH issued a memorandum for the activation of the surge capacity plan

02:33due to the increase in cases of leptospirosis in the NCR.
