00:10The Department of Finance Secretary Ralph Recto favors the use of PhilHealth's excess funds

00:18In a meeting held in Manila Bay, where the Secretary-Recto also mentioned,

00:22The money is sleeping.

00:25PhilHealth cannot spend it.

00:30That's why we said, let's use it for other programs like infrastructure.

00:39This year, in 2024, the contribution rate of employees for PhilHealth increased by 4-5%.

00:47The first question is, why did it increase?

00:50It increased because the Congress passed a law in 2018.

00:55Its purpose is to help our countrymen reduce out-of-pocket expenses.

01:06But for AgriPartylist Representative Robert Manoy Lee,

01:10PhilHealth should use their excess budget to expand and improve their benefits.

01:17So my call is, if you will get excess funds, get it from the GOCC that is not related to social services.

01:28Like PagCorp, PCSO, get it from them.

01:34The congressman believes that the country has many shortcomings, particularly in terms of health.

01:40Test scan, CT scan, MRI, all of these are not covered by PhilHealth.

01:46These are the shortcomings in terms of health.

01:51These are very expensive.

01:54For me, it should be proven that you can cover everything that should be covered in terms of health.
