00:00Good morning to all of our viewers.
00:12Sir Chris, where is the storm that we are warning about?
00:15Earlier, the storm is still outside our health responsibility, at a distance of 2,230 kilometers,
00:24which is northeast of the extreme northern zone.
00:26Although it is outside our PAR, it has a partial influence on Habagat,
00:32which is affecting some parts of our country.
00:36Speaking of Habagat, did it make Habagat stronger?
00:40And should we expect that it will be strong like the last time when Habagat passed because of this storm?
00:45Well, from what we can see, the previous Habagat episode was not that strong
00:51that we experienced because this storm is so far from our PAR.
00:57As of now, we expect that Habagat will be affected by heavy rain and thunderstorms here in Ilocos region,
01:04in Bales and Bataan.
01:06Meanwhile, Metro Manila will experience isolated localized thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening.
01:15Sir Chris, how is the latest monitoring for La Nina?
01:19Well, what we can see in terms of the La Nina condition, it is possible that in the latter part of the year,
01:27possibly in the last quarter, we will experience rains in some parts of our country, near normal to above normal rainfall condition.
01:37So as of today, we have been providing updates regarding the La Nina to a monthly climate forum
01:48where we are inviting stakeholders from the different sectors, agricultural power generation, media,
01:56to inform about the looming effects of La Nina, especially in the last quarter of this year
02:01and possibly will extend to the first quarter of the next year.
02:04Good morning. Thank you very much, Mr. Chris Perez, Assistant Weather Services Chief of PAGASA.
