00:00A passenger jeep crashed into a bank in Camias, Quezon City last night.
00:07A woman was injured and hit by the jeep.
00:10According to the driver, he tried to avoid the crash but the jeep didn't move.
00:16The passengers were not injured but the railing was damaged
00:20when the jeep hit a motorcycle and another vehicle.
00:26According to the driver, he tried to avoid the crash but the jeep didn't move.
00:32The investigation continues.
00:40The number of text scams went down following the declaration of Pogo Ban.
00:45According to the DICT, Joseph Morong sued Barangay Saksi Online.
00:52If your phones are silent and you don't receive many text scams,
00:58that's because of the ban and campaign against Pogo
01:02according to the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission or PAOC.
01:05Since the President was elected, we received a lot of text scams.
01:11This is also what the Department of Information and Communications Technology or DICT found out.
01:17When there was an order from the President for the immediate closure of the Pogos,
01:23we received a lot of consumer complaints.
01:26Our phones were silent for the scam promos and other types of scams.
01:34We asked if the online users are aware of this.
01:38One person said that there were texts everyday but now there are none.
01:42Another person said that there are no updates that he won P100,000
01:47that has a link to register.
01:49Another netizen said that the texts were stopped but there are still calls even if the number is blocked.
01:55I still receive text messages.
01:58For example, I won P100,000 and I need to click a link to claim.
02:06Online scams are still the same.
02:09Since the Pogo was banned, I haven't received any text scams.
02:13I haven't received any like before but I still receive some.
02:18In PAOC raids in Pogo Hub, thousands of SIM cards were confiscated.
02:24Last June, in a Pogo raid in Las Pinas,
02:28600,000 pieces of unregistered SIMs were confiscated.
02:32According to PAOC, the source of SIMs used in text scams are Pogo Hub.
02:38Here, SIMs are bought by the people behind the scams.
02:42For example, by online loans.
02:45They know that the Pogos are closing.
02:47That's their source of SIM cards, pre-registered SIM cards.
02:51They have machines that register the SIMs that have fake identities.
03:00If it's sold to you, it's already registered.
03:04Each SIM is worth P500,000.
03:08It has fake identities.
03:11It's even legal for the Pogos to get SIMs.
03:15The blank ones, the deactivated ones,
03:19they already have numbers but they're not registered yet.
03:23In our legal telcos, they sell a lot of them.
03:31As to the registration, they don't monitor it anymore.
03:34Under Republic Act No. 11934 or SIM Card Registration Act,
03:39the end user should register a number of SIM cards.
03:43This is what PAOC sees in the law.
03:46There is no guarantee that the person registered is a real person.
03:51According to DICT, they will audit the process of registering SIM cards
03:58to find out if it's effective to avoid pecking registration.
04:03Yesterday, a decree was issued by DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy
04:08to form a SIM Card Registration Annual Audit Task Force.
04:12Some of what Uy is asking the task force to do
04:15is to verify the identities of the registered subscribers
04:20from the National ID System.
04:22According to Globe Telecom, their SIMs are still deactivated
04:26until it's registered and verified.
04:29After successful verification, their SIMs will be used.
04:34They will follow the audit that DICT will conduct
04:37because it's included in the law.
04:39DITO Telecommunity is also in favor of audits that can help Filipinos.
04:44They have their own app that blocks more than 19,000 pecking accounts
04:48and they already have 14 million successful registrants.
04:52According to SMART, they assure that they are scanning the scam messages
04:56and they are continuously validating their SIM registration.
05:00They are also conducting follow-up audits
05:03with the National Telecommunications Commission or NTC
05:06to avoid pecking identities.
05:08For GMA Integrated News, Joseph Morong is your witness.
05:13China has claimed up to 3,000 hectares
05:17inside and outside the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Philippines
05:21in the Philippine Navy.
05:22This includes the Subi or Zamora Reef
05:25where the artificial island of China is located in an ancient city in the middle of the sea.
05:30Witness, Marisol Abdurrahman.
05:36In the past, it was just garbage.
05:38But now, buildings and runways are growing.
05:42The Subi or Zamora Reef is just one of the things that the Philippine Navy claims
05:46that there are four major bases of China in the South China Sea
05:50including 3,000 hectares of the sea that they have reclaimed.
05:53That's even bigger than the city of Manila.
05:55The Navy cannot say how widely China has reclaimed
06:00inside the Exclusive Economic Zone of the Philippines.
06:03Is there a creeping invasion? Yes. And this has begun since 1992.
06:07Their presence there is illegal.
06:09It has already been ruled by the arbitral tribunal.
06:12The Philippine Navy is also monitoring the Chinese survey ship
06:15that somehow left the Mischief or Panganiban Reef on July 27.
06:19It has sailed through areas within Sabina Shoal and southern part of Sabina Shoal.
06:24We have informed the appropriate government agency about this.
06:27The presence in the area has also increased
06:29to know if the people are the ones who are collecting the trash there.
06:33Unusual pile up of trash corals.
06:36The Philippine government deployed a ship to monitor the activity there.
06:42Its presence is longer than the usual presence that we do.
06:47As of now, the Chinese research vessel has not yet been monitored illegally
06:52even though the zigzag pattern of the voyage is being monitored.
06:56If you see an innocent passage or freedom of navigation,
07:00continuous and expeditious,
07:02when you zigzag, you are doing something else.
07:04Earlier this morning, the Sun House was 20 nautical miles away from the shoal
07:09where the monster ship of the China Coast Guard is located.
07:13What do we do? Challenge and challenge and challenge?
07:15Yes.
07:16Just that?
07:17Yes. And if it warrants the filing of a diplomatic protest by the appropriate agency,
07:21in this case, the DFA,
07:23there is a procedure to give them all the data that they need.
07:26We are not being chased until we are challenged?
07:30Yes.
07:31Why?
07:32Why? We don't want to escalate the situation.
07:36For GMA Integrated News,
07:38Marisol Abduraman is your witness.
07:43Three weeks of time is being monitored inside and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
07:48Inside the PAR is one of those,
07:51615 kilometers east-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes.
07:55Two are outside the PAR.
07:58According to Pag-asa, the three LPAs have no effect on the country.
08:02Only heavy and localized thunderstorms will cause rain in some parts of the country.
08:07Based on the data of Metro Weather,
08:09more rain is expected in the afternoon in the northern and central zone,
08:13in Maropa, Calabar Zone,
08:15and in the western sections of Visayas and Mindanao.
08:18Rain is also possible in Metro Manila,
08:20especially by noon or afternoon.
08:24Additional documents were submitted to the NBI today
08:27by Minio and Sandro Mulac.
08:29The complaint was filed against the two independent contractors of GMA.
08:33Witness, Nelson Canlas.
08:39Again, Nino Mulac went to the office of the NBI in Quezon City today
08:44and his son, Sparkle Artist, Sandro Mulac.
08:47They submitted some more documents
08:50to confirm their complaint against the two individuals.
08:54Nino also gave his official statement to the NBI.
08:58But the father refused to be interviewed.
09:01The body of a hotel also arrived
09:04where the incident that the father complained about happened
09:08to submit the CCTV footage submitted by the NBI.
09:13The NBI or the father, Mulac, did not state
09:16what the case was and who the complainants were.
09:21But the lawyer of the two independent contractors of GMA Network confirmed
09:26that his clients, Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz, filed the complaint.
09:33They also received a statement from the NBI Public Corruption Division
09:38for a hearing on Friday afternoon.
09:41Nones and Cruz are also being investigated by Sandro's home network, GMA
09:47after they complained about a young actor last week.
09:51When Sandro filed the written complaint with GMA,
09:56we already gave them notice of preventive suspension pending the investigation
10:02and we constituted an independent body
10:06to conduct the formal impartial investigation of the case.
10:10And of course, we have to abide by the rules of due process.
10:15For GMA Integrated News, I'm Nelson Canlas, your witness.
10:21Extra grateful to the two-time Olympic gold medalist, Carlos Yulo,
10:25to his supportive girlfriend who is with him on his Olympic journey.
10:29Let's watch!
10:33Carlos Yulo is a sweet winner of the first two-time Olympic gold medalist of the Philippines.
10:39Their friendship is so sweet that he considers it an inspiration
10:43and a break for his girlfriend, Chloe.
10:51I did it!
10:53Good job, my love. Thank you, Lord.
10:56A love story that started with a message on social media.
11:00Chloe, who used to be a fan,
11:03sent a DM to the Pinoy Gymnast
11:06and Carlos replied.
11:09In every match of Carlos, there's someone I love and support.
11:14In all ups and downs, she's always there for me and for my support.
11:19She gives me motivation and support.
11:23I love her so much.
11:27Aside from being a cheerleader,
11:29the time spent with Chloe
11:31reminds her of the life behind the sports.
11:35At first, he's very shy.
11:38But when you get to know him more,
11:40he's also very loud.
11:43He's super fun, super funny,
11:45super fun to be with.
11:49Super corny, no jokes, like that.
11:55He's so funny, outside of all.
11:59But like gymnastics, there are difficulties in their relationship.
12:03Sometimes, Carlos told us how they overcame
12:06the long-distance relationship.
12:08The updates.
12:11Always.
12:12What are they?
12:13Messages, videos.
12:16If we can eat together, we'll eat together.
12:19It's not what I like the most,
12:23but that's what works for us.
12:29What we want to do.
12:31Or this foundation.
12:34One thing they face
12:36is the incomprehension of his girlfriend and his mother, Angelica.
12:40Ever since the beginning,
12:43he doesn't want Chloe, even though he hasn't met her in person.
12:49We got more confused when I put boundaries
12:54in my relationship.
12:56I fought against Chloe because I like her.
12:59Chloe has her own income.
13:01All of my bank accounts are in my mother's account.
13:05There are instances where Chloe is the one who pays me.
13:09Actually, my mom and Chloe's family met twice.
13:13The last resort, my family made a group chat
13:16with everybody involved.
13:19Because my family wanted to address
13:21what issues your mom has towards me.
13:25Even though my family knew that she posted a lot,
13:28my family still welcomed them,
13:30treated them with respect.
13:33Aside from this, Carlos also answered the issues about money,
13:36which is one of the reasons why his mother is angry.
13:39She didn't tell me that she already received my incentives
13:44from World Championships.
13:46I didn't know that she already received my incentives
13:50if I didn't look for them.
13:52I never received those incentives.
13:55I never asked them for them.
13:59She also has my bank account
14:02and monthly allowances for my gymnastics.
14:06When I got my bank account,
14:09I found out that she was spending all of it.
14:13I have the bank statements of my withdrawal.
14:16Yulo's mother also defended herself against money.
14:20About money,
14:23I stole it,
14:25stole it,
14:27stole it from my heart.
14:29I told them that it's not true.
14:34I told her that I'm willing to release the evidences
14:42of the deposit slips that I have now.
14:48The principal here is not about the small or big amount
14:53of incentives that she stole.
14:56It's about the fact that I don't have any consent.
15:01Despite the lack of understanding,
15:03Carlos' mother said in the last interview
15:06that she is happy with the success of her son.
15:08Carlos said,
15:10If you are genuine, thank you very much.
15:12I acknowledge that you congratulated me.
15:15But it still gives me a flashback
15:18of the pain that you told me.
15:21Carlos' message to his mother,
15:23My message to you is to heal,
15:27to move on.
15:29I forgave you a long time ago.
15:32I pray that you will always be safe
15:35and that you are in a good condition.
15:39Let's stop this.
15:41Let's celebrate the sacrifices of every Filipino athlete
15:48here in the Olympics.
15:50For GMA Integrated News,
15:51I am Maryse Omaly, your witness.
