00:31and 551 wounded as a result of Israeli occupation attacks.
00:39And the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, ONRA, on Friday referred
00:44that constant Israeli shellings led to devastated schools in Gaza.
00:53Hello and welcome to From the South, I'm Alejandra García from Telesur Studios in
00:57Havana, Cuba.
00:58We begin with the news.
00:59In Venezuela, the re-elected president Nicolás Maduro announced that the Venezuelan extreme
01:04right wing will try to carry out a terrorist act in the mobilization that will take place
01:09on Saturday in an attempt to destabilize the country.
01:11During an official press conference at the Miraflores Palace, the president asserted that
01:16the disqualified political leader María Corina Machado plans to carry out a coup d'état
01:21against the welfare of the people.
01:24In this sense, the Venezuelan head of state also denounced that during the last violent
01:28protest of this week by violent demonstrators, many schools, universities and hospitals were
01:34seriously affected.
01:36Also the re-elected president Nicolás Maduro affirmed that he has already prepared the
01:40intelligence commands and military troops to counteract Saturday's attack by the Venezuelan
01:46extreme right wing.
01:50I thought it through, because we could be revealing a source of information that we
01:59have been working on, of groups of criminals of the comanditos.
02:11But I must make this denouncement, part of these groups of comanditos, armed with grenades
02:16and other weapons, intend to carry out an attack tomorrow in the area of Belo Monte,
02:28Caracas, among them, brought from Zulia.
02:38Part of these criminals, terrorists of the comanditos of Zulia, they were responsible,
02:42Minister Ceballos, for attacks to the police here, from Olari Square, in San Martin Avenue,
02:55in Petar they brought from there, from outside, from Caracas, there we have two audios and
03:07a chat.
03:08And given the precise orders for the intelligence, counterintelligence, security and police forces
03:23to protect the greater Caracas and these areas, which are under threat, these criminals are
03:28already being sought.
03:34The Venezuelan head of state condemned U.S. imperialism for conspiring against the country
03:39and attempting to generate a popular social outburst.
03:49We chose the peaceful electoral, dialoguing, democratic way since 1997, Zulia, on April
03:5619, 1997 in Valencia, in the National Plenipotentiary Assembly of the Bolivarian Movement 200, five
04:04hundred delegates and spokesmen of the country, together with Commander Chavez, we voted unanimously,
04:10to go the electoral way, to leave behind the insurrectional way, to go for the peaceful
04:15electoral road, which is our road, it has been and is our road.
04:19In spite of the fact that North American imperialism with its conspiracies has wanted to take us
04:24to the road of an armed popular revolution, they have wanted to take us to an armed popular
04:29revolution, but our road is the constitutional, electoral, peaceful, democratic, dialoguing
04:36road.
04:42In addition, the re-elected president Nicolás Maduro emphasized his rejection of the criminal
04:47ambitions by Venezuelan ultra-right-wing groups that attacked schools and universities in
04:52the country.
04:58In the midst of the criminal ambush on Monday and the criminal ambush on Tuesday, where
05:0212 universities of the country were attacked, 12 universities of the country were destroyed
05:07and burned, including the recently recovered Central University of Venezuela, where 7 schools
05:17of initial education, 21 schools of primary education, 34 high schools were attacked,
05:23you tell me, Mr. Blinken and the government of the United States and the world right,
05:32if attacking universities, schools and high schools are peaceful demonstrators, it is
05:37protests, they were attacked, they were burned, they were destroyed, completely destroyed,
05:42burned in the streets.
05:48In Venezuela, the National Electoral Council issued the second bulletin regarding the July
05:5228 presidential elections reaffirming the victory of President Nicolás Maduro.
05:57On Friday, the president of the National Electoral Council, Elvis Amoroso, informed the results
06:02of the Venezuelan electoral process with 96.87% of transmission.
06:07The electoral body confirmed the win of constitutional president Nicolás Maduro, candidate of the
06:12Great Patriotic Poll, who achieved 51.95% of the votes after obtaining a total of 6,408,844
06:23votes while opposition candidate Edmundo González obtained 43.18% with 5,326,104 total votes.
06:38Nine of the ten former presidential candidates attended the hearing of the Electoral Chamber
06:43of the Supreme Court of Justice as part of the beginning of the investigation, verification
06:48and certification of July 28 elections, the major response to the contentious electoral
06:54appeal presented by the re-elected president Nicolás Maduro in order to preserve the constitutional
06:59order of the country.
07:01Nine out of the ten former presidential candidates headed the call of the highest court and signed
07:06a document in which they committed themselves to appear as many times as this court deems
07:12necessary as part of the investigation of the electoral process.
07:26With the promulgation of the supreme law of the nation was born what we know today as
07:30the Venezuelan electoral justice system, established in its article 297 whose central
07:42objective is to protect the exercise of the political rights of the population among which
07:46stand out the right to participation, the right to suffrage established in articles
07:5662, 63 and 64 of the constitutional text hence the electoral chamber acts within the
08:02framework of the constitutional principles of due process and effective judicial protection
08:13to guarantee access to the mentioned electoral justice system with the application of the
08:17regulations.
08:22Claudio Fermin, former presidential candidate for the Soluciones Venezuela party, signed
08:27the contentious appeal to investigate, verify and certify the results of the July 28 election.
08:36But I would like to report that the reason for this situation has been the appearance
08:40before the electoral chamber, which has taken it upon itself to collect the minutes and
08:49documents for the verification or final validation of the electoral results.
08:54That is what we have witnessed.
09:00It has been a brief act and those present have simply subscribed to our presence and
09:05our information will be aware of the sentence issued by the electoral chamber.
09:11Also the former presidential candidate of the Centrados party, Enrique Marquez, reaffirmed
09:16his commitment to respect the popular will expressed in the elections of July 28.
09:24From here, I ratify my firm commitment to the constitution of the Bolivarian Republic
09:29of Venezuela.
09:37To peace in our country, I ratify my commitment to the popular will expressed on July 28.
