00:00After two days of protests by the opposition against what they say was a stolen election,
00:05supporters of Venezuela's government turned out in Caracas to defend the result.
00:10This is more than proven. There was no fraud.
00:14They have said the same thing in previous years, in previous elections.
00:18They always talk about fraud. They say here and in other countries that these elections were and will always be legal.
00:25Venezuela's National Electoral Council declared the incumbent Nicolas Maduro the winner on Sunday with 51.2% of the vote.
00:33The opposition claimed its exit polls showed its candidate Eduardo Gonzalez to be the overwhelming winner.
00:39The US, a long-time critic of Maduro, called for the Electoral Council to release the results.
00:45I want to note that our patience and that of the international community is running out.
00:53It's running out on waiting for the Venezuelan electoral authorities to come clean
00:58and release the full detailed data on this election so that everyone can see the results.
01:04Many Latin American governments have also joined the call for the results to be released,
01:09but not all are agreed on how to pressurize Nicolas Maduro's government.
01:13A resolution demanding full transparency failed to pass at the Organization of American States on Wednesday.
01:19Eleven countries, including Brazil and Colombia, abstained from the resolution.
01:23Back in Caracas, Maduro threatened to arrest opposition leaders,
01:27but he also began to show some openness to being transparent about the results of Sunday's election.
01:33The great patriotic poll, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, is ready to present 100% of the electoral records in opposition,
01:43and I hope the Electoral Court will do the same with each candidate and each party.
01:49Protests in Venezuela in recent days have resulted in 11 deaths
01:53and seen statues of Maduro's predecessor, Hugo Chavez, toppled across the country.
01:58But the president, having successfully weathered sanctions and a tanking economy, will not be so easily overthrown.
