The Arena Larkin Aquatic Centre in Johor is expected to be temporarily closed after 19 secondary school students were hospitalised following a swim in the pool, said Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi during a visit to the centre on Sunday (July 28). 00:00As we all know, we received a report after the MSSJ campaign in Renang,

00:19900 students participated in the program.

00:24We were informed that 19 students were admitted to the hospital.

00:33The latest report says that one of the 19 students is recovering.

00:43Based on our survey today, the Chemistry Centre is studying the water level here.

00:53It has an impact on the 19 students.

00:58I also see that the diving pool and swimming pool infrastructure is rusted and needs to be repaired.

01:09The management told me that the flooring lining is going to be renovated.

01:18It was affected by COVID-19 temporarily.

01:23But the renovation work is starting by September and should be completed by this month.

01:29The report is not good in terms of chemistry.

01:36But we have to close the swimming pool for the safety and well-being of the people of Johor using this complex.
