00:00Let's all cheer for Team India.
00:58Well, I've never actually ever been at the Olympics and I'm so thrilled, so glad that
01:12you know, to be here on location where India House has been inaugurated as one of the country
01:18houses for our Olympians here, like a home away from home where they can feel, you know,
01:23so much more relaxed and confident.
01:25And I'm told that the preparations for this time's Olympics have been solid, absolutely
01:30amazing.
01:31Also, because my own cousin, my first cousin, Dola Banerjee, Rahul Banerjee, they're both
01:36Arjuna awardees and they're both, you know, they're coaching their archery team.
01:41So I'm very excited for the archery team, especially as well as badminton, as well as
01:45weightlifting.
01:46I've been told wrestling, shooting.
01:49So we got some great prospects this time, 117 of our athletes are competing.
01:54And I think the last highest tally we had was seven from the Tokyo Olympics.
02:00So I'm sure you can look at all of them here.
02:01We're surely going to go from seven to at least 17, 20, who knows, our hockey team is
02:08looking good.
02:09So I'm really excited, really excited, and hope I've brought some luck by being the first
02:14performer to be here at India House.
02:17It's a special song that has been, I mean, fate had it in some way it was made for a
02:36film, but I think this song should be our Olympic song.
02:39So I'm glad I could get to sing it here for the first time for our Olympians.
02:44It's composed by Preetam Da, it's written by Kaustubh Munim and I had a chance to sing
02:48it.
02:49But singing it here really got out the real feeling of the song.
02:52Bahut khushi ho rahi hai aaj, ki Olympic ke ithiyaas mein, in the history of Olympics,
03:01this is the first time India has its own house, or this is a place that we are going
03:10to celebrate our athletes, cheer for them, and it's going to be a home away from home
03:19for them.
03:21So we are looking forward to all the celebrations in the coming two weeks at the India House.
03:31I think this time we have a great contingent coming from India, and I think 47% of them
03:42are girls.
03:43So I am so proud and more power to our young girls and our boys.
03:50But I think this time India is going to do well.
03:53I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
03:55Let's all cheer for Team India.
03:57Hip hip hurray, Jai Hind!
