00:00game 60 this one I hope to make more minutes even the next two games so for
00:05me it's perfect I can show myself in training in the games get game time get
00:10rhythm so it's been very good. You've had to be patient though right? Yeah of course but you know in a club like this at this level you have to be
00:16patient I've been in our five years time flies of course been away quite a lot
00:21but for me there was a perfect steps gain experience a lot of games I've
00:26played the last few years so especially in a centre-back I came in when I was
00:30very very young for me to go out a few times that was perfect enough to be here
00:34feeling ready feeling good I think it's been perfect.
00:39A lot has been said and written about your future, where do you stand at the moment?
00:44I'm still a Liverpool player I enjoy it really like I said it's been a very nice
00:49pre-season of course new coach like a new era starts a fresh training new
00:57style of play so I really like it and like I said for me it's just about game
01:03time and at the moment I'm getting it here and so I'm happy at the moment but
01:07like I said it's still early you never know what can happen but for me the most
01:11important thing is playing and if I can do it here there's no better
01:16place it's one of the biggest if not the biggest club in the world so it's
01:20here it's my dream but for me the most important is playing so I will see what happens.
01:25Do you think after this tour you'll sit down with the manager and kind of have a nice chat?
01:29Yeah no definitely I spoke with him already first day and I just he gave his
01:32opinion I give my opinion and I think it was very very nice of us to speak
01:36directly and be open both sides so yeah now I'm here pre-season show myself in
01:42the games and the trainings and then we'll have a sit at the end and again
01:46hopefully we'll be honest and then we'll see what happens.
01:48We heard from Curtis talking about what Barna is like and how happy he is to try different things
01:54and what's the new coach like?
01:57Like I said intense because the former coach was also intense so maybe it's just a
02:01liveable thing right now it's um it's just been different I think you saw
02:04today as well the way we're trying to play it's more yeah how I say this more
02:10staying on the ball trying to knock them out and then go from there and it's a
02:16different way and I'm used to play but especially the guys over here they've
02:19played with with Jurgen for eight years here and that's a different type of
02:24playing so it's been a big change in one way but it's still it's football so
02:30still we have amazing players here so it's a slight change but we're getting
02:35better day by day and we still have a few games to go and hopefully we'll be
02:40in the Premier League in the Premier League season.
02:43How different is it to Jurgen Klopp's approach? How much can you see his identity?
02:48Yeah I think the former manager was really about of course the gegenpress
02:53the counter press and a little bit more direct right here we're trying to play
02:57more keeping the ball and search for the right moment and then go into the space
03:02and then attack I think you could see the perfect example was the goal we
03:05scored. Go one way you just keep saying you play on the one side you go to the
03:10other side and I think it was a perfect way we start from the left you go to the
03:14middle go to the right end up scoring so this I think is the biggest one but like
03:18I just said it still is football so still it's an easy game to play what
03:22some some people say but yeah it's just a few changes especially with the ball
03:26without the ball it's still about like I just said intensity, high press, full
03:30press so it's not much but still it's a little bit.
03:34As a Dutchman is there much Dutch style in there and is there similarities with Feyenoord as well?
03:38Yeah of course I think he tries to bring what he did there over here and he did
03:42very well there so so hopefully we can do the same same in here but it is is a
03:48Dutch way I'm used to it way in the academy I think we in Holland we like
03:54this type of play we learn it from a young age so yeah it's definitely a
03:58Dutch way and I think it's the same he played at Feyenoord so like I said he did well there so he tried to do it there as well.
04:03And when he was announced as manager this season were you excited because you're a Dutchman and maybe you can get seen a little bit more?
04:09Yeah definitely I was I was surprised as well to be honest.
04:13Of course Liverpool is one of the biggest clubs in the world and for a Dutch manager I think it's the first time ever in history I'm not sure but so it was it was a big
04:20surprise for me but no it was it was a nice feeling we can we can speak Dutch
04:25yeah I spoke with him like I said the first day directly we'd be open it's
04:29easy to communicate so it is it is a good thing for me and of course I'm not
04:32the only Dutch guy so I think when the others come back they are also quite happy.
04:36Last question then, do you just hope that it helps you maybe with your future?
04:42No because you have to play well and it doesn't matter if I'm Dutch or he's Dutch it doesn't matter if I'm not good enough I won't play so I just have to prove myself show myself and that's all I can do.
04:53Thanks Chris, appreciate it.
