365lb Binge Eater To Bodybuilder | BRAND NEW ME
CHANTELLE Sisco, 21, from Brisbane, weighed 356lbs at her heaviest and was a self confessed 'binge eater' - but with the help of her mum, she has lost a total of 160lbs. Chantelle had incredibly low self esteem and was unable to do the smallest of tasks. When she felt bad about herself she turned to the only comfort that made her feel better... Food. Chantelle told Truly: "Whenever I felt down, food was my option. I would binge and eat until I felt sick. Junk food and takeaways were my best friend." Over the years of binge eating, Chantelle put on more and more weight until she reached her heaviest of 356lbs. Chantelle's health took a turn for the worse as she was unable to walk short distances without an inhaler, play with her young son and with the fear of diabetes looming, things only got worse for her confidence. However, during a baby shower, a photo was taken of Chantelle that shocked her to the core. Chantelle said: "I just looked at that photo and it was just shocking, I couldn't believe that I looked like that. That was the moment I knew I had to start this journey." Desperate for help, Chantelle turned to her fitness instructor mum Rhoeda, and got to work. With the tough love and stern coaching of Rhoeda, Chantelle lost an incredible 160lbs. Chantelle added: "I feel amazing about myself now, I feel confident, I feel happy and I'm loving my life!"

00:00At my heaviest I weighed 356 pounds.
00:02Whenever I felt down, food was my option.
00:05I would binge eat and I would eat until I felt sick.
00:08Junk food takeaway was my best friend.
00:10I definitely thought that like if I don't stop I'm going to be 200 kilos.
00:16I'm going to have diabetes.
00:17I'm going to have all these health problems.
00:19I would die.
00:21My mom helped change my life.
00:23Push out against the belt.
00:24You got it.
00:25Five.
00:25Let's go.
00:26Up.
00:27It's taken me a total of one year and 11 months.
00:30I've lost a total of 160 pounds.
00:36Growing up I was always on the bigger side.
00:40If I felt insecure or I felt big everyone would just say I was curvy.
00:46Whenever I felt down, food was my option.
00:48Any day that I didn't feel good about myself I just went to food
00:52and I would binge eat and I would eat until I felt sick.
00:56The sky was my limit.
00:57I had, I ate everything.
00:59Mostly just chips and chocolate or pizza.
01:02Anything that I could cook really quickly.
01:05One day turned into a week which turned into a month
01:07and that's why dieting also never worked for me before I was pregnant
01:12and before I started this journey because I was constantly just
01:15making excuses and eating and eating and making it into a vicious cycle really.
01:20I gained 30 kilos during my pregnancy which got me to my heaviest.
01:24At my heaviest I weighed 356 pounds.
01:28I remember that.
01:29I came home and I was like I can't do this
01:31and I walked literally down the street for like two minutes.
01:34My confidence at my heaviest was very low.
01:38I couldn't do everyday tasks.
01:40I couldn't go out with my friends.
01:42Clothes shopping was so hard.
01:45There was just so many things that I couldn't do that I wanted to.
01:49When I look at these photos I just feel someone who was like stuck.
01:54In like a shell really.
01:58It was very difficult to see her unhappy.
02:01When you come home and you see her struggling to get out of bed, play with baby.
02:08I definitely thought that if I don't stop I'm going to be 200 kilos
02:13and I'm going to have diabetes.
02:14I'm going to have all these health problems.
02:17If I didn't stop now I would die.
02:24It was your asthma.
02:26It was her asthma that scared me the most.
02:29The fact that she wasn't able to go like walk around the corner
02:33without needing the asthma puffer in her hand.
02:38Yeah it was just scary.
02:40Where's the skyline? Do you know where the skyline is?
02:44Where is it?
02:44The big light bulb moment for me that made me think
02:47I want to lose this weight and I want to change my life
02:50was when I went to a baby shower
02:53and we took a photo together.
02:55I just looked at that photo and it was just shocking.
02:58I couldn't believe that I looked like that.
03:00That was the moment that I knew I have to start this journey
03:03and I have to lose this weight.
03:08And throw!
03:11I went home and I pretty much asked my mum for help.
03:14My mum is a PT and I just pretty much said I need to change.
03:20She was like my live at home coach.
03:23When I first started exercising it was so tough.
03:28Doing a five minute walk around the block was just impossible.
03:31I was out of breath.
03:33I was just so emotional.
03:34I came home and I was like I can't do this.
03:36This is too hard.
03:37I honestly just thought I was going to give up.
03:40Hey girl.
03:43My mum helped change my life.
03:45She was just there by my side every step of the way.
03:48She came to the gym with me.
03:49She helped me start you know telling me what to do.
03:53And as I got more confident I was able to kind of branch out
03:58and do different types of exercises like bench press and deadlifts.
04:09Nice.
04:11Nice and strong.
04:13Barbell back squat is a part of the powerlifting big three.
04:16As a compound exercise we incorporate it into all of our workouts for lower body strength.
04:21Is your mum a tough coach?
04:23How hard does she push you?
04:26Let's go up.
04:27Good job.
04:29My mum is definitely a tough coach.
04:31When we first started training together I never listened to what she said
04:34because I just was like it's my mum.
04:37Whatever.
04:37I don't need to listen.
04:39But now I listen to everything and she pushes me which is what you need.
04:47Push out against the belt.
04:48You got it.
04:48Five.
04:49Let's go.
04:50Up.
04:50You can do it.
04:50Push through.
04:51Three more.
04:53Ten.
04:54Good work Shani.
04:55Keep going.
04:57Two more.
04:58She's definitely a very tough coach but I love it.
05:01Breathe.
05:02Five.
05:03Good.
05:03One more.
05:04Hold.
05:05Hold.
05:06Good job.
05:08It's taken me a total of one year and 11 months and I've lost a total of 160 pounds.
05:20I'm dying.
05:24You feel good?
05:25Feels great.
05:29Good job girl.
05:31With my new body I worked so hard to get to where I am.
05:36I feel so confident.
05:37I can wear anything that I want to wear which has always been a dream of mine
05:41is to walk into any clothing store and just be able to put something on and feel good.
05:45Flex there.
05:46Bring that out.
05:47Beautiful.
05:50I am currently preparing for a bodybuilding comp in September
05:56and this is going to be like my finish line to my journey.
05:59What about if we rotate a little bit more and then there we go.
06:05I've been at my heaviest and now I'm going to try and get to my absolute smallest
06:11and I can't wait to hit that stage and just show off my journey and how far I've come.
06:17I'm just super, super proud that she's come this far and I know she's going to go all the way
06:21and that moment when she hits the stage I don't even think she understands how
06:26much confidence it's going to give her and how it will be the final part of her weight loss journey
06:32but it certainly won't be the end for Chantel.
06:34Looking back on my journey I did not think that I would get to where I am
06:39let alone wanting to do a bodybuilding comp.
06:43I feel amazing about myself now.
06:45I feel confident, I feel happy, I can power through all my exercises,
06:52my daily tasks are easy, I can run around with my baby.
06:56I'm loving my life at the moment.
